* How they started *

All the original finish was removed, bare metal was smoothed of casting lines.  Castings were then cleaned, sanded, and primed with automotive grade lacquer.  Then AutoAir Base Coat Sealer was applied and the REAL fun began!

* How they are painted *

I first came up with some totally fresh TRIBAL graphics from scratch!  Very detailed especially on the top.  Custom masks were made.  A base color was laid down consisting of custom mixed gold pearls and flakes from four different sources.  Auto Air to House Of Kolor.  Also laid a little Candy Pagan Gold over the sides for slightly different shade variation.  Masks were applied and Wicked Jet Black was sparingly applied to take it back to black evenly.  Then the gold pearl custom mix was lightly shot on.  Heavier at the upper sides than top and lower sides.  This makes for a very VERY sparkly “Black Gold” as the color shifts from near black to bright gold and several shades in between!

* How they are Finished *

Alclad chrome used for HAND Detailed Head Lights, tail lights, Park Lights, and also added candy red and orange fast to the tail/park lights.  Front”VW” logo done in black!
All sealed up with automotive 2part Urethane clear and then HAND POLISHED for a deep gloss and lasting shine!

* Additional Features *

Features Metal base and Chrome Ring/Black Deep Dish 5 Spoke wheels with Goodyear White Letter Rubber Tires on front..Rears are not rubber but the treads were SANDED to create a faux rubber appearance!!
Engine blower belts, side tanks, and exhaust tip detailed in black while engine, scoop, blower, and the rear parachute detailed with a orange red custom mix color!
