* How they started *

All the original finish was removed, bare metal was smoothed of casting lines.
VW logo on bus noses were ground smooth to utilize a smooth surface for the modern bat logo.
Castings were then cleaned, sanded, and primed with automotive grade lacquer.
Then AutoAir Base Coat Sealer was applied and the REAL fun began!

* The BadBat Concept *

Being a batman fan myself, this concept was fun to say the least!  I styled all graphics and colors from batman elements, but all are completely UNIQUE!  The BadBat logo is my own moniker, as are the tribal bat (top of bus) and the more modern bat on the bus noses!  The point Im making is that these graphics are not found anywhere else and are unique, even tho they look as if they could have been a part of the batman world  in print or film.

* The 66 Batmobile *

Based in custom mixed Pearl White, Then sg100 clear applied before the custom made maskings were installed on both sides of fins and the hood for the BadBat logo.  Wicked Jet Black was applied and then alclad chrome flames were airbrushed on in two layers, followed with custom mixed heavy pearl blue and white flakes for extra bling!  Two coats of custom mixed candy blue were applied, allowed to dry, then masking was removed. A specially matched, high resolution, laser decal of the carbon fiber “badbat” logo was applied where the mask was on hood, sealed with SG100, then two more coats of the candy blue were applied, in a fade pattern producing a subtle gradient darker in the rear, lighter in front…looks amazing!

* The VW Drag Bus *

The Drag Buses were based in a custom mixed Orion Silver/white pearl flake color that glimmers like diamonds!  This base is then given a couple coats of SG100 clear to smooth it out and lock in the flakes.  Then two of the specially designed laser quality graphics were applied, allowed to dry thoroughly, then sealed with SG100 to protect these areas while additional masking is done.  Then the upper sides, center of nose, the top, plus freshly designed tribal flame maskings were meticulously masked off leaving the lower sides and rear wing exposed for the custom mixed Candy Oriental Blue with a pinch of blue pearl flake to be applied!   Masking removed, the final graphics were applied to upper sides, and the tribal sided flames previously created.  Then the entire thing was coated generously with SG100.

* Hand Applied Details *

Batmobiles-

• Head Lights
• around canopy opening
• Edges of fins
• Jet exhaust & rear trim.

Silver metallic was used on…

• the rear parachutes
• various areas of canopies
• interior for a nice contrast to the chrome details.

Also added Jet Black to..

• front grills
• rear grills
• jet exhaust

Flat Black on..

• the middle of canopy section

Candy Red applied to...

• canopy mounted twin antenna
• canopy mounted emergency light
• various interior accents.

Finally Flame Red

• applied to the tail lights.

Custom mix Pearl Amber

• applied to the park lights.

• applied to the tail lights.

* Additional Features *

• Both feature Metal bases (batmobiles are painted black)
• Batmobiles have Chrome 5 Spoke wheels with Rubber Tires
• Bus has chrome 5spk. Deep Dish wheels w/rubber tires on front.
• Bus has Goodyear White Letter tires front & Rear
• Bus REAR Tires are not rubber but the treads were SANDED to create a convincing faux rubber appearance!!

Finally, they are all sealed up with High Quality automotive 2part Urethane clear , color sanded lightly and then HAND POLISHED for a deep gloss and lasting shine!

This set contains the LAST of both the Batmobile and Vw Drag Bus BadBat Blue Series. The Batmobile has a perfect finish, HOWEVER the Drag Bus (only) does have a few tiny flaws in the clear coat which cannot be removed. They are only on the sides and chances are if I didnt mention them, you likely would never see the minor spec like spots. They do not photograph well, so I could not get very good pictures of the defects, which might go the farthest to say how tiny these spots are. There are THREE pics below of the ACTUAL SET..please view closely and make your own decision. Due to the minute defects, I am offering this last set at a DEEP DISCOUNT as I really hate to toss it back in the stripper for just these issues when the rest is flawless. By purchasing this set, you acknowledge these defects are present. I really think you will be happy with your purchase, or I would not offer it for sale, but again, it is not as close to perfect finish as my standard, so you get a big discount, and I dont have to strip an otherwise very nice piece.
